The Nationale Blue

The Nationale Blue Hometown: Boston
Established: 1999

Reuben Bettsak - guitars, vocals, keyboards
David Altman - bass
Adam Kriney - drums

The Nationale Blue may be unlike any other band you have heard before. The progressive indie rock trio takes many different elements to create their blend of music. Right away you can notice the direct influence of Dischord-style rock, although TNB brings along electronics (synths, drum machines, sound effects), and classic prog-rock sounds ala Rush and YES into the fold. Their songs alternate between pulsating tunes with intense vocals, to complex instrumental rythym patterns.

The band began at the end of 1999, after the three members of the Hartford, CT rock band, The Little Dipper, moved to Boston and began experimenting — and putting hours and hours of work into their new music. The result was The Nationale Blue.

Since June of 2000, TNB has recorded and self released 2 CDEPs. The band has been constantly touring the states in support of their previous records, and plan to continue doing so after their release of their debut full length on Iodine Recordings, which will be titled A Different Kind of Listening.
