In early 2001, from the ashes of Charlottesville's beloved indie rock outfits, the Silent Type and Excitbike, rises Gregor Samsa. Now rooted in Richmond, Virginia, Gregor Samsa has been hypnotizing audiences with their dreamlike compositions. Critics have compared the group to bands like Godspeed You Black Emperor, My Bloody Valentine, and Mogwai. After the success of their split e.p. with the Silent Type on Syndrome Industries/Syndrome United, Gregor Samsa is launching their long awaited first album on Boston's Iodine Records in late spring of 2002.
