Garrison are one of those bands that confuse a lot of people. For no other reason than because
they don't fit into one of the current popular categories that people like to put a band. Are
Garrison post-hardcore? Are they pop? Are they indie-rock? Are they just a rock band? Garrison
are all of that.
Singer/guitarist Joseph Grillo and guitarist Ed McNamara started Garrison in the spring of '98
as a side project since they were both already busy playing with other bands. Shortly after
adding the rhythm section of Andrew White on bass and Guy D'Annolfo on drums, the foursome
realized their potential and Garrison became a full-time band. After putting out a 7"
on hometown label Espo Records in Boston,the band was signed to Revelation. With a CDEP and
Full length on Rev, the band has just released their sophomore full length titled
Be a Criminal which was recorded by the infamous J. Robbins of Burning Airlines and
Jawbox.
